Bluey the superhero blood donor

susanf06

Not all super-heroes wear capes and their underpants over their tights!

Meet Bluey. Bluey is one of our three Romanian superhero blood donors.

He saved the life of Jemma, who suffers from anaplasmosis (an infection that can cause lameness, joint pain, fever, lethargy, and anorexia (lack of appetite), plus anaemia and complications in her organs.

As all incredibly brave heroes deserve, he was given plenty of treats when he woke from sedation, and both donor and recipient are doing well.

Bluey is 3 years old and has grown up in a public shelter. He and his siblings were dumped as tiny puppies, before being rescued and brought to safety.

All of his siblings went off to homes and he was just never chosen.

He's a gentle soul who is now looking for his own superhero to give him the life he deserves. If you are interested in adopting Bluey, please fill out an application and one of our admins will be in touch.

Stay tuned to find out more about our two other superhero blood donors and the fascinating process of canine blood donation.
