💙Desmond has faced a difficult beginning in life. He was found on a chain and in a state of starvation, but he is now slowly starting to experience what it feels like to be safe and cared for. He has turned into such a handsome boy! He will need an experienced home to support his ongoing journey of healing and building trust.

Desmond performed very well on his lead test, naturally very curious and sniffing everywhere. He responded very well to his handler and stopped when asked. We think he would thrive with an owner who loves hiking to meet Desmond's love of exploring and zest for life.

Despite his tough start, Desmond is a happy boy and really seems to enjoy life. He will need a kind, patient owner who is prepared to put in the work to build his trust, teach him boundaries and give him time to adjust and build his confidence. He really is a lovely boy and needs his special person to believe in him and help him feel safe and secure.

Desmond is currently sharing a kennel with four other dogs, but he is not the most dominant member of the group. He can be selective in his interactions with other dogs, so we believe he would be better suited as the only dog in a household. Desmond will require socialisation training, as well as time and patience from his new owner.

Desmond is the kind of dog who will reward your patience with deep, loyal affection. Watching him learn, trust, and enjoy life is incredibly moving. He’s ready for a home where he can finally be someone’s whole world, and he’ll give his heart right back.

Desmond has not met cats, but can be tested with them upon request. He has guarding issues around food due to being starved, so he would need to live in a home with older, dog-savvy children.
