First fundraising gala is a top night out in Nantwich

More than 85 volunteers, supporters, and local partygoers came to our first fundraising gala at Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday 13th September, helping to raise more than £1,800 for the charity.

Special guests from Romania included rescuer Cerasela Matei and Curtea de Arges shelter managers, Tony and Mari Parker, who managed to make the main event despite getting a puncture on the M25 on their way upcountry!

With a 1920s theme, the evening included a screening of student film maker Joshua Rankin's documentary on our work in Romania, as well as fun casino entertainment, a swing band, and a silent auction.

A huge thank you to the Cheshire Booth Company for lending us a photo booth for the evening, to all of our lovely volunteers who helped organise the event, and to everyone who supported us by attending.

We have set a tentative date of Saturday, September 13th, 2025 for our next annual event... stay tuned for more information!
