Meet Elijah, Elijah lives with an eight-year-old child and has always been affectionate, gentle, and calm around him. He enjoys cuddles and sitting beside the child on the sofa and responds well to calm supervision. He is best suited to dog-savvy children, likely eight years and older, who understand boundaries and calm behaviour around dogs.

Elijah has previously lived with a senior male German Shepherd in the home. While he has generally coexisted well outdoors, he has displayed indoor space guarding behaviour and guarding of proximity to his owner from the resident dog. For this reason, Elijah is believed to be best suited to an only-dog home however another dog could be consider with someone who can manage these behaviours and ensure full seperation when eating.

Elijah can be wary and excitable when visitors enter the home, particularly men. He may bark or jump initially but settles with calm introductions, reassurance, and structured guidance. He accepts a collar, harness, and lead, and generally walks well on a lead. He enjoys walks and sniffing, may be mildly anxious around loud noises or traffic, but is manageable with calm handling. He is toilet trained, crate trained, and sleeps in his crate overnight, settling within 15 to 20 minutes. Elijah can be left alone for several hours and generally copes well, with background noise used to reduce stress from external stimuli. He has no significant destructive behaviours.

Elijah is affectionate, loyal, and bonds deeply with his humans. He enjoys attention, cuddles, cosy blankets, treats, squeaky toys, balls, and family activities. He can be sensitive to sudden noises and activity outside the home but settles with reassurance. He dislikes the hoover, but will go to his bed or crate to allow cleaning to continue. Elijah thrives in a calm, structured environment with consistent routines and confident handling.
